During our writing marathon, I created some videos of what I saw. Here they are. There is no squirrel episode 1, I missed named them when I uploaded them to YouTube, and I didn't want them to be played out of order.

Today, I wrote a cliche poem during our demo for today about "bad" writing. It was a lot of fun.
As Luck Would Have It Am I a few fries short of a happy meal? For Pete's sake, aren't we all, Cool as a cucumber Top banana Perception becomes reality I've realized that I've never worried about copyright or fair use in my classroom when it came to students creating things. We did talk about plagiarism in writing, but when they made Google slide presentations with a lot of images, I didn't address the ownership nature of images, and what would be fair use for them. I am enthusiastic to have learned about the Google search tool to search images that can be used without infringing on a copyright, and Creative Commons as a resource to protect my creations, while also sharing them.
Well, how did I feel during the process of composing with things. I had a shoe string, tea bag, cup, and then took a Lego man and was given a metal thing and a whiffle ball. I felt similar to Lego man. Then, I started to mess around with my items. Eventually, I felt like I had an idea of what I wanted to say. I also started to understand the connection to writing. When writing, we use a collection of letters to form words, and then put words together to convey our message. This ended up being very similar, instead of letters and words we had to use items to convey our message. It was tricky, and almost felt like my own language. How could I make it so everyone could understand it? Well, I wouldn't be able to. I realized that during the speed description part of the day. Everyone found different meanings for my creation. On top of all that, this project was a lot of fun to complete.
Today felt very productful. I got a good start on my book during our hour of writing. That was huge, since I've been thinking about writing one for the past two years, and now it's finally going somewhere. I enjoy going around the campus to new locations to write. Having movement throughout the day adds adventure. It was great to have the first demonstration today. Allison did a great job, and it gave me a new strategy to think about when I plan writing for other subjects. Lastly, taking a picture based on a piece of text was great fun. I found a Ginkgo tree on campus! Well, the first day anxiety has dissipated for me. Driving in a few circles, going in and out and back in of the same parking lot, and not remembering the room number I was to go to is all a distant memory. It was exciting to go to write in the library and sharing wasn't as scary as I imagined. I'm narrowing in on my topic for my demonstration, but I still have time so I'm not super stressed about it, yet. I still want to make changes to my weebly, so things may change. Overall, this was a great start!
